How do you seek perfection? My experience is that you try and back away from imperfection every day. Now and again, you might stumble over perfection. I try to live in the "in between place" on a daily basis. It keeps me out of trouble.
My wife says I am a perfectionist. My house,car and my appearance don't give me away as a perfectionist.Certainly my fishing is not there. I think it must be all in my head and it probably makes me do some pretty dumb things.
