Jesus said to his disciples, his followers he had chosen, to “Love others as I have loved you.” That is a step up from love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus loved his followers in spite of themselves and their shortcomings. He loved them without conditions and accepted their failures. He gave them a lot of rope to become changed. He was the Power and they were the Problem. So no matter how I feel about myself, even on those days when I feel pinned to a cross, I am reminded to love as he loved. No conditions.
