Come On Back

The New York Cardinal is going big into media to invite Catholics back to church.  They left for a reason.  I don't think the blitz invite is dealing with the reason.  Think of a lot of people having a bad taste in their mouth over some food product.  They all stop eating it.  One day, the producer of the food invites them to try the food again.  No changes in the food.  So why would it taste any different now?

    Well... we've gotta' eat. Perhaps the veggies we despised as a kid are worthwhile as an adult.

    The church is not the same today as it was after Jesus' death. Many things that seemed so important may have to be revisited and looked at in a more human, forgiving manner. I don't remember Jesus saying that his church needs to be one of the richest organizations in the world while we still have the poor. Maybe less gold in the churches and more bread-jobs-help for the poor.
