Marie Antoinette

A Vatican Cardinal said that his 6000 square foot palazzi is normal, since these kinds of residences tend to be spacious.  I guess the Pope has a different normal or is suggesting one.  No remorse, guilt or shame from the Vatican Cardinal.  Marie Antoinette, as a prelude to the horrible French revolution, said, "Let them eat cake."  There was a great inequality of lifestyle in France at that time.  I think she missed the point.  So does the Cardinal.

  1. This cardinal probably asks his congregation to donate to the church to help the poor! Maybe he should donate!

  2. I see you are posting earlier now - just noticed it - interesting what we think of, before we get "busy" with the day.
From yesterday, meditating with people seeking answers to "everyday problems" is a lot more rewarding than being concerned with issues of power and position.
I had a great discussion with a friend after our Monday session, on serving at a higher level of awareness.
Perhaps you could join us sometime, when you are in Snowmass this summer?
You remind me of the cartoonist Jimmy Hatlo, who did humorous panels asking "Whyizzit?", posing questions like yours, and "Hatlo's Inferno", proposing punishments for thoughtless people doing annoying things.
One of my favorites was the pit for those who mow their lawns early on weekend mornings, when some would wish some peace: the demons were mowing the hair of the tightly packed crowd into butch haircuts!
Pope Francis is a refreshing change of attitude in Vatican leadership by example.
    Will "The Old Guard" follow?
    I wonder.

  3. A worldwide corporation should be able to issue new and immediate guidelines regarding finances and investments.
Can you imagine how much embezzlement of church funds has taken place? There must be thousands of corrupt clergy with their pudgy little fingers in the cookie jar!
