Epiphany

 Many cultures celebrate the day of “Epiphany” with special meals and exchange of gifts.  Epiphany is about the Magi or Three Wise Men as they are sometimes called.  What is important is that they were serious searches.  They looked to the heavenly stars for signs of the Divine at work.  Then they left their comfortable homeland to cross barren areas, deserts, in search of God’s sign of activity in the world.  They found it in a house with a baby and mother.  They found God at work in the world.  They did not have to be baptized, or join anything.  They went home, the search satisfied.  Many people say they cannot find God at work in the world.  Maybe they are looking in the wrong places. Or not searching very hard.  Or willing to give up very much.
