Seduction of pride

 When one has seemingly overcome their debilitating addiction, their seduction to pride can take over and they begin to believe that they are better than other people around them. This is how pride seduces us.  We think we have become a superior creature.  What is needed here is humility.  We must remember that without the spiritual power, God, Higher Power, we are nothing without this Power, this Spirit of strength.  I see this in some people who “get” religion.  They are on the correct way, and of course, anyone not on this same way is lost.  We actually advance quite slowly in grace, recovery, the spiritual life.  This is why I like a path of suggestion.  It seems to imply ongoing growth dependent on God.  Daily meditation keeps us on the path of humility and dependence on God.
